Following the recently published first outlook<\/a>, here is already the first review \u2013 and I am a little shocked. Looking back, I realised that I didn't paint much in July. A commissioned work<\/a> \u2013 yes. But beyond that: not much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, that baffled me for a moment. But then I looked through the list of everything else the July had in store. Perhaps it's no wonder there was little room left for painting. And maybe that was exactly what I needed: to clear my head. To create new structures. And to be a little more conscious of how I spend my time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction site vs. everyday life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\"\"At the beginning of July, there was one thing keeping me busy: a construction project in my house. It was supposed to take a week, but ended up taking much longer. Not only did it eat up time, it also wore on my nerves. And it was definitely not a creative space where I could relax. But even though the builders left us with a little work to do (laying carpet on stairs is no picnic...), the overall result is great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design instead of chaos \u2013 my Canva deep dive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In July, I spent some time tinkering with Canva to create templates for Instagram. Posts, reels, quote tiles \u2013 everything should be easier and faster, without having to start from scratch every time. I developed a few templates that are not only practical. Not everything is final yet, but it's taking shape \u2013 and that feels really good. So check out my Instagram page<\/a> from time to time, as more will be posted there in the near future!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new take on the studio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There's been a lot going on in the studio \u2013 even if it wasn't a brushstroke. I've rearranged things, created space, built storage space for finished works and finally cleared away the exhibition materials from the last exhibition (in April!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yes, I have created more space for paint. Because can you ever have too much paint? (The answer is, of course, no.) It all feels clearer now \u2013 and colourful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
