30 cm, high-quality acrylic paints on MDF
It begins in the centre: a dot that shines brighter than anything else, surrounded by a soft gradient from turquoise-white to deep teal blue. From there, fine white lines radiate outwards, intersecting and converging to form several star shapes that overlap one another. Drawn with a ruler, but painted with acrylic paint – a technique I am currently experimenting with, which gives these lines their own, slightly lively texture. At the edge, small, slightly raised dots in varying shades of turquoise line up, almost like a wreath of tiny waves.
The gaze follows these rays: first towards the centre, then outwards again. Focus, then expanse – like a breath.
Stellar Weave was inspired by my fascination with sacred geometry. As always, I worked from the inside out – and this is precisely what is reflected in the image itself. The colour gradient in the background was particularly important to me: it carries the light outwards from the centre and lends depth to the entire radiance.
This mandala is ideal for spaces where tranquillity, clarity and a sense of openness are welcome:
- Shades of turquoise and teal symbolise serenity, inner balance and a free spirit.
- Aqua and marine tones evoke images of water, rivers and renewal. They promote relaxation and a sense of lightness.
- Gentle colour gradients from dark to light symbolise development, awareness and the connection between depth and clarity.
- White brings structure, purity and harmony. It allows geometric shapes to stand out and creates visual focal points.
This mandala is like gazing quietly at a clear sky or calm water – expansive, balancing and centring.
